As you know in Outer Ring, we have several GWtG games (games inside the game). From arcade machines, to billiards, darts or Lasers&Vessels .
All thes games will have weekly LeaderBoards with prizes for the best and Leaderboards linked to a Season.
But let’s go slowly… What is a leaderboard?
It is a table that shows data as varied as the score, times and even the number of enemies eliminated and the score obtained. This helps us to know which players have a better score (and which players should get their hands on it if they don’t want to stay last and be vilified by the rest of the players).
What does “leaderboard” mean? and why to mix it with the “Season” concept?
The concept of leaderboard means, literally, “leader of the board”, and its background goes back to the ARCADE machines.
How to mix it with the Season concept? Instead of just weekly leaderboards for each arcade machine, there will be season leaderboards. Both a general leaderboard that includes the total score of all games, and individual leaderboards per game. These leaderboards with longer temporalities will give access to better prizes.
This way, the feeling of challenge and the spirit of motivation will be much greater, since you will quickly put a name to all those gamers who are above you (and you can even start “conspiring” – but legally, please, we don’t want to have to kick you out of our particular world – to take away the desired first position).
