With the ISL gaining more ground and the Rebirth Coalition being the only force opposing its imperialistic plan, on the other side of the universe, the proud Va’ans saw a far bigger threat heading to their doorstep.
Sooner or later, the ISL would be terminated, however, the sudden shift of people’s morals and values alarmed the Va’ans even more. Attached to the tradition and values of the old ways, the Va’ans feared that the sudden rise of technology would soon render their existence obsolete. Their adhesion to the old ways of fighting and their simple way of life was already threatened by the existence of the Oracles and the technological rise of men. The rise of the Rebirth Coalition would mean the end of the Va’ans and all those who would not adapt to the technological change.
When the Mechs were created, many Va’ans preached that the end would soon come. The race of Mechs came in total opposition with the teachings of Vassal as Machines had no souls and their deaths offered nothing to their Him.
As soon as the Mechs gained their autonomy and became equal members of the Rebirth Coalition, the Va’ans feared that the end was closing in for their values and civilization.
In fear of the new technological wave, the Va’ans decided to formalize their disagreement towards the new Era that dawned in the Outer Ring. The nomad Va’ans, after claiming a planet of the ISL, created the Bastion of Traditions Alliance (BoTA), a formal threat and statement against the ever-growing technology.
The most studious Va’ans crafted a speech, preaching the value of the Old Ways and the fear of the New Era, attributing the entire Civil War to the rise of technology. Every Va’an of the Outer Ring joined the Alliance and they openly invited everyone who could oppose the tyranny of Earthlings and Oracles.
Their alliance was at first mocked and, once again, considered of mundane importance by the Rebirth Coalition. The Oracles responded that no one could oppose technology and its rise and those who resist the upcoming change, they would sooner rather than later, succumb to its power.
But no member of the Coalition could foresee the number of races willing to join BoTA. With their remaining influence as powerful warriors, the Va’ans approached several traditional races across the Outer Ring and they all considered the Coalition a problem and a threat to their cultures.
Razlians, Veludens, and Drozavans, they all realized the incoming threat of technology and banded together, forming the body of BoTA.
With the Traditional races banded together, the new force joined the Civil War of the Outer Ring with a clear goal: destroy the opposing forces and preserve the traditional ways of life.
