Outer Ring integrates Web3 technology into its newly launched Official Merchandise Store, allowing its community to generate up to 20% discount coupons using their Non-Fungible-Tokens (NFTs).
Outer Ring MMO launched its Merchandise Store on January 25th, featuring an array of clothing and accessories inspired by the game’s main characters. Its community can now use the Early Explorers Collection NFTs to get discount coupons connecting a Metamask wallet to the site.
The game uses blockchain tools to empower its players. For example, inside its decentralized ecosystem, they can freely trade an NFT Cland Badge with other gamers using cryptocurrencies such as GQ, BUSD, and BNB, but that’s not all. That digital item can identify these players as community members inside the Merchandise Store and generate a 20% discount coupon.
In the near future, Outer Ring MMO plans to expand the uses of NFTs even further, allowing players to read the Outer Ring Saga novel or participate in virtual land sales, among others.
Using tokens to build community
Among all the properties that blockchain technology and tokenization can provide to different industries, the capacity to grant real ownership over digital items is the one catching the most attention of brands and marketers.
When users get the capacity to benefit from their interaction with a project directly and can actively participate in its ecosystem, the feeling of “having skin in the game” becomes a massive tool to build a community around the company’s vision.
For example. Outer Ring players will be able to generate $GQ, the game´s cryptocurrency, by just playing, and using it to participate in the governance proposals to decide over the game´s future or just exchange it for dollars if they want to do so.
Also, using Non-Fungible-Tokens, Outer Ring can give exclusive benefits to its community members. Now obtaining discounts, but in the future, they could use that same token to create unique partnerships with other projects.
The Euroleague basketball team, Saskis Baskonia, is already testing this kind of initiative with Outer Ring. With their NFT collection “MVP Signed Pack”, their fans get both physical and digital benefits: a signed jersey and ball from the game’s MVP and experiences inside Outer Ring.
Blockchain and e-commerce
The Outer Ring Store features unique game-themed clothing pieces and accessories. But its blockchain interaction makes it stand out over other e-commerce stores. With a few clicks inside the cart screen, gamers can connect their wallet to the site and validate the ownership of Outer Ring digital items to generate discount coupons from 5% up to 20%.
Once they proceed to checkout, they can select cryptocurrency payments on GQ, BAMBOO, BUSD, and USDT, to complete a safe purchase thanks to Remibit integration.
